New York City, NY – The nation’s oldest continuously published magazine, The Nation, reports that Prop 13 tax loopholes have benefitted the wealthy and corporations at the expense of local governments along with California’s education system and mental health facilities. The story cites a study, conducted by the University of Southern California and commissioned by Make it Fair, that concludes closing tax loopholes ‘would generate $8.2B to $10.2B in additional tax revenues’ to ‘maintain and expand vital public services.’
